Squatwolf

By now I can honestly say I've been working out for a solid two years — actually, I'd say two and a half. Right now I train regularly, and it's genuinely been a journey in more ways than one over these two and a half years. From learning how to run properly to recovering from an injury. It's also definitely been a journey when it comes to clothing — what do I actually like wearing for running versus strength training? Which sports bras work best for me, and which leggings won't leave you see-through? It's genuinely taken a lot of orders, and a lot of money, to get to the point where I now confidently say: order from Squatwolf.

From Aybl to Under Armour

Genuinely a lot of brands have made their way into my closet, and just as many have made their way back out. I bought a lot from Under Armour, Gymshark, Aybl, and some pieces from Odlo too. I've also definitely got sports bras from Brooks (big tip) and running socks from Stance. You could say I have a favorite brand for pretty much every type of item, and my clothing needs also differ per sport — I like different clothing for running than for strength training.
Before I dive into my opinions, I do want to be clear that other brands definitely aren't bad. Want to throw weights around in a full Gymshark set? Go for it. Does a low-impact sports bra work fine for your runs? Good for you. But which brand has worked best for me so far? Squatwolf.

Let me start with Aybl and Gymshark. These brands just don't do it for me (anymore). With Gymshark I'm stuck between two sizes, and for about a year and a half now I've also noticed the quality of their fabric has dropped. Ordering leggings or tops became a real hit-or-miss situation — the fit changes quickly after washing (gets tighter), and with four leggings I'd ordered, the fabric went see-through whenever I bent my knees. With Aybl, the shorts dig into my thighs and ride up while I move. Going a size up, the fabric no longer sits nicely and the waistband ends up nearly at my armpits. I also find the seams wear out quickly, with loose threads showing up.
On top of that, I honestly don't get how people can be enthusiastic about Nike leggings. Every single legging or short I've bought from Nike Pro so far has been see-through on me. I ended up reselling all three of those top brands to people who are luckily happy to wear them.

My first Squatwolf order

Built-In Bra top and Core Padel shorts

I honestly couldn't tell you how I originally came across this brand. It was probably social media, or maybe while searching online for decent leggings. Last year around Black Friday I placed my first order with Squatwolf. Genuinely the perfect time to order, since they had a huge number of items at 70% off.

My first order was pretty modest, just two pieces. Though it was an order for two pieces of clothing I'd had my eye on for ages but always thought were too expensive. I'd wanted a high-impact sports bra that didn't just look purely functional for the longest time. That's how I landed on their High Impact Built-In Bra Top. Simply put, it's a short-sleeved crop top that doubles as a high-impact sports bra. Genius. And when I tried it on at home, I was still just as excited. I can genuinely run in it, and everything stays exactly where it should!

That left me wanting more

In late May, a new round of sales went live, again with discounts up to 70%. This time I placed a bigger order, since I really wanted full sets I could put together entirely from Squatwolf. I ordered seven pieces at an average of 21 euros each. Another Bra Top came along, but this time also two shorts, two more bras, and two leggings. Most items were in the color Skyway (a light blue), with the rest in black — except a pair of running shorts, which came in Pearl White. This month I placed another (big) order, mostly black this time, since I simply feel best in it and it's also the easiest to mix and match. I focused mainly on leggings and a few matching, also black, tops.

The Squatwolf leggings

Okay, this got out of hand fast — I currently count seven Squatwolf leggings. A bit intense, sure, but it also says a lot about how much I love the fit, since at this point the only other leggings I own are thermal ones I wear for winter runs. I haven't actually tried running in most of the leggings below yet, except for the first two models mentioned. So far that's gone well, though those two models run a bit larger and don't sit glued to your skin — something you'll either love or not!

What do I look for in a legging? A high waist, soft fabric, not too tight (no pinching/irritation), no front seam (a front seam increases the chance of see-through), and a length that comes nearly down to your ankles.

The different models

Define Gym t-shirt and Anti-Slip leggings

I started with the Untamed Panel leggings in the 27" length, and I love wearing them. They fit nicely without pinching, and have a really comfortable high waist. They're still available in three colors, though in limited sizes. This legging also has no front seam.

My second order also included the Anti-Slip leggings in light blue, but I've now also ordered them in black. Another high-waisted legging, but with a different back design than the Panel leggings. This anti-slip version has a narrow waistband at the back specifically designed to keep the leggings from slipping down, so it sits a little tighter around my waist. Both come in a print and in the 27" length.

Next up are two other leggings with the same waistband, but with a slightly different finish on the legging itself. Both are again 27" in length and sit as high-waisted, though a bit lower than the two previous models. That's due to the narrower waistband, which forms a really flattering V shape at the front. The Untamed Colour Block leggings are otherwise pretty straightforward. The Crossover leggings, on the other hand, have nicely integrated side pockets. Both models are still available in limited stock (as of Nov. 2025).

The last two leggings are both the Glitch model, which is currently still available in tons of sizes and variations, including different lengths, colors and prints. I went for the wonderfully over-the-top Hot Pink print and a gorgeous blue shade, Estate Blue. The latter is in a 24" length. Why? Because I wanted to be able to wear this top with at least two different leggings. This legging model is fairly basic — it sits high and fitted. Just like all the other leggings, it doesn't sit so tight that I feel like my legs are being held hostage.

Honorable mentions

I'll spare you a rundown of every single item currently sitting in my closet, but I do want to mention the shorts. I now have two pairs of the Core Padel shorts and one pair of the 2-in-1 running shorts. Both have a fitted brief built in with a mesh short layered over it. Super comfortable, and they don't slide down either. I definitely don't play padel in them (no feel for the ball whatsoever), but I love running and working out in them. I will say I sometimes have to tug the "loose" liner free from between my legs — not because of irritation, but because of visibility.

I also bought a fitted t-shirt and a long sleeve from them for the first time. Ohhh, I felt so good in that shirt! It's their Define Gym t-shirt, though it's nearly sold out at this point. Fits super sleek, sturdy fabric, and really comfortable. I haven't worn the long-sleeve shirt while working out yet.

Go take a look at their site, maybe try something out, especially if they're running a sale! Give their pieces a shot and pimp out your workout wardrobe!
