Anyone who knows me well knows there's honestly no better combination. Ever since I first found out The Lord of the Rings existed, and was old enough to watch it, I've been a fan — and I mean a proper fan. I had the various DVD sets, posters, I watched every extra interview, I dove deep into the cast, all of it. As far as that was possible during my childhood/teenage years, with whatever media was available at the time.
On top of that, I've kept journals for as long as I've been able to write — pages full of whatever I'm going through, and mostly my overthinking. With a lot of joy and a lot of comfort, I love writing in Moleskine notebooks. Right now I have 20 Moleskine journals alone sitting on my shelf, mostly filled, aside from the most recent order. I actually started writing in Moleskine notebooks in the first place because of their fantastic collaborations.
Moleskine
Let's start with who Moleskine actually is. According to their website:

I also know the company is currently based in Italy, since that's where my orders ship from. They've also, I think, had a bit of a fresh boost recently. For the past two years or so, I'd been genuinely disappointed that Moleskine wasn't releasing any fun collaborations anymore and their website hadn't been updated in ages. Over the past few months, though, a different/refreshed website seems to have gone live, and thankfully collaboration after collaboration is being launched again. Definitely worth browsing around if you're still into pen and paper — they've got something for everyone when it comes to notebooks and planners, and they're increasingly releasing more stationery too.

Past collaborations
Alright, I'm not going to list every single collaboration, because there are genuinely a lot. I can show you a few that were released and that I've owned myself, though. There was definitely a period where they were really on top of tapping into popular themes. I remember Game of Thrones, Peter Pan, Sailor Moon, Harry Potter, Despicable Me (Minions), Le Petit Prince, an earlier Lord of the Rings collection, and one for The Hobbit. Oh, and I can't forget Star Wars. After peeking in my closet, I also spotted Toy Story and Alice in Wonderland.
It's genuinely worth searching online for any themes you're into combined with Moleskine. Sometimes you'll still stumble across old limited editions floating around on other websites — for instance, I still come across Batman items every now and then. You can sometimes find items through secondhand platforms too, though those can run pricier than the original retail price.
The first Lord of the Rings x Moleskine collection
Honestly, I'm not sure anymore whether that collection is actually what got me started writing in Moleskine notebooks in the first place. Looks like it might be, though — the first one in the series is indeed from a Lord of the Rings collaboration, and it starts with a date from 2014. That genuinely feels like a lifetime ago. Anyway, three notebooks came out of that collection. I write in the large, ruled format, and that collection had some really different cover designs. I haven't even started writing in one of those three yet, because I'm being so careful with it — I don't want to use up all my favorites back to back...
CORRECTION: my actual first Moleskine was a Hobbit collaboration. So, to sum up, I have two notebooks from a Hobbit collection and indeed three from the older Lord of the Rings collection. Which one's my favorite so far? My dark brown, fabric-covered Hobbit notebook. Maybe partly because so much changed in my life during that particular period.
The newest Lord of the Rings x Moleskine collection
I came across it on Instagram: Moleskine had launched a new collection. Total confusion followed, because the website I usually check showed nothing about it. So I used the link on their Instagram channel instead and found the newest Lord of the Rings collection there. That's also how I found out they had a whole new website! I even had to reactivate my account on it. For the pre-order I got three items: three notebooks and the stickers. In the second order, the pins came along too, plus the planner for the upcoming (school) year. Oh, and the XL ruled notebook. Aside from a few items, I now own almost the entire collection. I skipped the most expensive item, the set of three notebooks, and I also passed on the three cashier journals, the patches, and the postcards. Any regrets about skipping that pricey set? Eh, not really — 50 euros per notebook felt genuinely steep to me, especially since 2 of the 3 individual notebooks cost around 30 euros each. Fair's fair though, I did think the purple Arwen notebook was the most beautiful of the whole lineup.
The notebooks: hardcover, ruled
There are four cover designs in total: Frodo & Sam (orange), Aragorn (blue), Arwen (lilac, exclusive to the set), and Legolas & Gimli. There was a set available with the first three mentioned above, where the Arwen notebook was only available as part of that set. Arwen's cover is designed in lilac tones, with her silhouette shown standing by the pavilion in Rivendell on the front. This set cost €150.00, and I haven't seen it available since the pre-sale ended. The notebooks came in a black collector's box, with the spines lining up to form the engraving from the Ring. There also appear to be three matching patches included, coordinated with the covers.

The three standalone Lord of the Rings x Moleskine notebooks
Besides that set, there are three standalone designs available: Frodo & Sam, Aragorn, and Legolas & Gimli. The first two come in a special gift box, with the front of the gift box matching the notebook cover. Because of the gift box, the price is a bit higher, at €33.
On the Frodo & Sam cover, both silhouettes are shown walking in front of Barad-dûr, with two Nazgûl flying overhead. The colors are various shades of orange and beige.
I can very clearly make out Aragorn's silhouette — it really reminds me of the scene where he wraps his cloak around himself as he heads into the wilderness with the four hobbits after they flee Bree.

Then there's a version without the gift box, where you just get the notebook itself. This is the cover featuring Legolas & Gimli standing in front of Helm's Deep — a cover mostly in green-blue tones, with a really nice detail: it comes with two bookmarks instead of just one. It also comes with a sticker sheet and a map of Middle-earth to record your adventures on.

The XL notebook
This notebook came with my second order. I'll admit I don't normally work in this size — it's their largest format, with a soft cover. The cover is dark blue, with the inscription from the Doors of Moria printed on the front. It's also a flexible, softcover design. Inside the notebook itself, every so many pages you'll find a small illustration with a quote tucked into the bottom right corner. Just like most of their notebooks, this version comes with a small sticker sheet too.

The two accessories
Completely unnecessary, but I wanted them anyway. I tried to grab the pins right away, but they sold out almost instantly — they're currently sold out again, in fact. Luckily they were back in stock by the time I placed my second order. You can attach these pins to the elastic band that keeps your Moleskine closed, letting you personalize your notebook even further. This set includes The Ring and a Lothlórien leaf. Lastly, I also ordered the completely unnecessary sticker set, which includes three sticker sheets.

Bonus: Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
There's also a new collection out with an Alice in Wonderland theme. This time it's really classic in terms of artwork, with very sweet colors. It's not a huge collection, but I do think there's something in it for everyone. It includes several types of notebooks and quite a few accessories. I ordered the large, ruled notebook in a gift box. I'm not massively into Alice, but I genuinely have to say this is a well-designed collection. There's a mirror at the back of the book, plus you get a giant sticker, some smaller stickers, and a bookmark with a quote printed on the back.
