Two years ago, Lethal Cosmetics released a hugely successful collaboration. They created an Avatar: The Last Airbender collection. Amazing. To this day I'm still using the eyeliners from that collection. So I was thrilled when Lethal Cosmetics announced a follow-up: a collection built around the The Legend of Korra animated series. The collection dropped on July 9th, and items were already on pre-order before launch — meaning they sold out in the very first round. Luckily I managed to snag five products. I ordered the Spirit Portal Bundle.
The Legend of Korra
The predecessor to this series, Avatar, is probably much better known as an animated series than The Legend of Korra. I still remember watching it through my brother, since he'd managed to download it somewhere. Even now it doesn't seem to be a series that's easy to watch from the Netherlands. So what's the show actually about?
Legend of Korra is the 2012 animated series created by Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino as a sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender. The story is set seventy years later, in a modernized world with cars and industry. The main character, Korra, is the new Avatar and, unlike Aang, already masters water, earth and fire from a young age; airbending is her biggest challenge.
The series is set in Republic City, where Korra completes her training and gets caught up in political unrest and spiritual crises. Each of the four seasons revolves around its own antagonist: Amon (Book 1), Unalaq (Book 2), Zaheer (Book 3) and Kuvira (Book 4). Alongside Korra, key characters include Mako, Bolin, Asami Sato and Tenzin.
The series is known for its darker, more mature tone, with themes like trauma, fascism and identity. The finale hinted at a romantic relationship between Korra and Asami, making it one of the first mainstream animated series with an LGBTQ lead.
The Legend of Korra collection
The collection consists of eleven products in total, and I think there's really something for everyone in it. It includes two palettes, two eyeliner sets, a lip oil, a makeup sponge, two blushlighters, sheet masks and a Gua Sha for your face. The makeup accessories in particular are always done really nicely.
The Blushlighters
I did seriously consider this one, but honestly I wear too little makeup on my face for it. There are two shades available: Pabu and Naga. Pabu is clearly a warm shade, warm peach and bright red. Naga is a cooler shade, with purple and ice-blue tones. The texture of the powder is genuinely gorgeous — almost a shame to actually use it. It's essentially a hybrid between a highlighter and a blush.

The accessories
Since I already have the amazing charcoal sponge from the Avatar collection, I skipped the makeup sponge this time. But people, it changes color when it gets wet — that's genuinely fun. Beyond that there's not much special about it, so I think it's perfect if you use makeup sponges often and heavily.
The sheet masks are also really nicely done in terms of appearance. That said, I've never used a sheet mask before, so this one isn't really made for me. The pack contains five of them, and they're supposed to have a soothing and rejuvenating effect.
The collection also includes a green Gua Sha made from Green Phoenix Jade. Do you use one of these in your skincare routine? Go for it.
The Spirit Portal Bundle
Without a doubt I wanted the eyeliners from the Legend of Korra collection. It's currently my favorite liquid eyeliner formula. It stays put all day, applies beautifully, and the colors are spectacular. I rarely manage to finish makeup products — yes, I know, I have too many — yet two of the six eyeliners are almost empty, and I'm now even using them sparingly.
Either way, I knew I wanted the eyeliners, but I was torn on the palettes. Thanks to the bundle price and a discount code I'd found, I went for The Spirit Bundle. It includes both palettes, both eyeliner sets, and the lip oil.
Liner sets

There are two liner sets, Korra and Asami. As you might expect, the Korra set includes a blue shade. This blue eyeliner is a duochrome. The other liner in the set is black — genuinely nice to have a black base shade in this formula, since it'll get a lot of use. The set comes in cardboard packaging featuring Korra, but also an image alongside Asami. The packaging opens easily, revealing the two eyeliners inside. The blue shade is truly fantastic — vivid and rich in color.

The Asami set leans more red. That red shade is a deep plum with a matte finish. The other liner is silver with a shimmery finish. Asami is featured on the front of the packaging. The silver liner is beautifully done in both color and finish — is it a groundbreaking shade? Not really, but it's a lovely option if you don't already own a silver eyeliner.
I noticed both liner sets share the same caps — as in, the exact same print. I'm very curious how these eyeliners hold up once worn on the eyes. Compared to the Avatar eyeliners, these swatches came off my hand more easily.
Embered Lip Plumping Oil

I couldn't get it open at first — the lip oil itself. I thought it was just me, but after a bit of brute force (and, of course, twisting it) I got the cap off. The first few times, that little funnel piece came along with it — you're supposed to push the applicator through it so you don't dispense too much product. After some fiddling, the funnel now stays put and only the applicator comes out. Though honestly, I still have to use a fair bit of force to pull the applicator out.
Mako is featured on the cardboard packaging — a character from the show who can bend both fire and lightning. Very fitting for this packaging. The lip oil leaves behind a light, tingling, warm sensation after application. Not a product I'd order on its own, but it does leave a lovely subtle finish, so I'll probably reach for it more often. What does Lethal Cosmetics say about it themselves?
Inspired by Mako's firebending spirit, Embered is a nourishing lip plumping oil that brings pure heat to your kisses. The sheer red pearl tint leaves behind a subtle, fiery flush, while a gentle warming sensation helps create the appearance of fuller, more defined lips. Infused with a conditioning oil base, it delivers lasting comfort and a luminous, glass-like finish that catches the light from every angle.
The Raava palette from the Legend of Korra collection
Who is Raava? This ancient spirit of light from The Legend of Korra is truly a figure worth remembering. She's the counterpart to the dark spirit Vaatu, and together they form light and darkness, order and chaos.
What makes Raava so special? She's inseparably bound to the Avatar — in fact, she IS the source of the Avatar's power. For thousands of years she has bonded with the soul of each new Avatar, granting them mastery over all four elements as well as access to the knowledge and memories of every past Avatar.
What happens if that bond between Raava and the Avatar is ever broken? The Avatar temporarily loses all their power, along with the connection to every previous incarnation.
The palette

I genuinely love the cardboard sleeve. The front has this old-fashioned window vibe, like something from a Japanese temple. Sleeves often don't add much beyond function, but I feel like this one actually adds to the palette's atmosphere. The palette's exterior has beautiful artwork, and the holographic finish really adds something. That holographic effect carries through to the inside of the palette too. Raava also comes with a mirror and nine eyeshadow shades.
I couldn't find the official finish descriptions on the website, but I can make a pretty solid guess.
Spirit of Light — silver with holographic glitter, ice-cold white undertone.
Balance Restored — bright green, matte, lime green with a slightly warm yellow undertone.
Bound Together — deep green with emerald glitter, cool green undertone.
Avatar Wan — light blue/baby blue matte, with a slightly grey-green undertone.
Vaatu — deep aubergine/plum purple with purple glitter, cool purple undertone.
Astral Projection — ocean blue/teal matte, with a warm green undertone.
Beginnings — mint green, matte, fresh and bright with a cool undertone.
Harmonic Convergence — olive green with gold-green glitter, warm moss-green undertone.
Spirit Portal — deep purple/indigo, matte, dark purple with a blue undertone.
The Vaatu palette from the Legend of Korra collection

Where Raava represents light, Vaatu is precisely the opposite. This dark spirit stands for chaos and darkness, and has been Raava's eternal counterpart since the beginning of time.
What makes Vaatu so dangerous? Once he manages to break free, he can plunge the world into complete chaos — without Raava to keep him in balance, all harmony between the human and spirit worlds disappears. That's why Vaatu was sealed away thousands of years ago by the very first Avatar, Wan, deep within the Tree of Time.
Yet that seal doesn't hold forever. Every 10,000 years, during the Harmonic Convergence, Vaatu gets another chance to escape. And if he succeeds? He threatens to merge with a host and plunge the world into darkness for good.
The palette
This palette also comes with an equally awesome cardboard sleeve. This packaging is clearly more purple, with a gorgeous light seafoam green. The details are fuchsia pink against the purple. That same atmosphere carries through to the inside of the palette. There's a clear purple presence in the palette, with one pop of green. Despite the palette's ominous name, this color combination feels fairly safe — you can definitely create beautiful purple or pink looks with it.
Ten Thousand Years — charcoal/black with silvery-blue and purple glitter, cool dark grey undertone.
Tree of Time — soft beige/nude, matte, warm with a pink-peach undertone.
Northern Spirit Portal — mid purple, matte, bright purple with a cool blue undertone.
Chaos Unbound — bright/medium purple, matte, warm and saturated purple.
Raava — lime green with silvery-green glitter, bright and fresh with a cool undertone.
Darkness Falls — deep blue with ultraviolet glitter, cobalt blue with a purple undertone.
Eternal Struggle — pink/silver with holographic glitter, cool pink with a purple undertone.
Dark Avatar — deep plum purple, matte, dark and saturated with a warm undertone.
Spirit of Darkness — black-brown, matte, deep dark with a warm brown undertone.
