Have I been living under a rock? Up until the moment of writing this, I thought it was a game. Turns out it's actually an American cartoon series? What's neat is that it even holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Anyway, Lethal Cosmetics has come out with a new collaboration once again. As far as I know, this is collaboration number three. It started with Avatar, then Dexter, and now Adventure Time.

Adventure Time

In the Netherlands it airs on Cartoon Network. There are 10 seasons in total, released between 2010 and 2018. It's initially aimed at children. Except, according to my research, it regularly references fairly adult topics, and there's a fairly large adult following that watches this series with a lot of enjoyment. You can also stream it on Netflix, in case you've gotten curious.
Adventure Time follows the human boy Finn, who has all kinds of adventures with his magical dog, Jake. It's set in a post-war world, the Land of Ooo. Finn is known as the last human, because a nuclear war caused humanity to disappear. (Pretty intense for a kids' show xD) In the Land of Ooo, Finn and Jake experience all sorts of different adventures.

The Lethal Cosmetics collection

The brand has come out with a pretty generous collection. There'd already been a lot of buzz on YouTube about this upcoming collection for a while. The collection definitely wasn't designed for me, since I have no feelings whatsoever about Adventure Time. For people who do feel happy about this series, there's plenty to choose from in the collection. There's an eyeshadow palette with 24 colourful shades, called the Candy Kingdom palette. There's also plenty of choice in blush shades, four of them, and one highlighter. On top of that, they also have various lip products; lip scrub, lip gloss and lip balm. Want some fun accessories too? Then they've got plenty of choice. Like the Finn the Human headband, which is genuinely genius. Once again, products galore! Adventure Time liquid eyeliner

In the collection, there are two products I do have feelings for. Eyeliner. I'm genuinely a sucker for coloured and/or unusual eyeliners. Do I already have enough? Obviously. Still, I really wanted these two eyeliners in my collection too. They came out with two eyeliners in total; Gunter Liquid Eyeliner and Ice King Liquid Eyeliner. Are they super exciting eyeliners? Not entirely, but for me that was actually the appeal. They're two fairly standard colours, black and white, but with a really cool twist.

Gunter Liquid Eyeliner

My guess is that Gunter is a penguin, as the packaging suggests. Apparently Gunter is the sidekick of a pretty major character in Adventure Time, namely the Ice King. Gunter the penguin is the Ice King's loyal buddy.
The eyeliner comes in graphic cardboard packaging featuring a sliding Gunter. Inside the packaging is the slim eyeliner, made of clear plastic. The colour of the product itself is pretty clear, black. So what makes this black different? It has holographic glitter in it. According to Lethal Cosmetics themselves: Matte black with subtle holographic sparkles that represent the cosmic entity within Goonts. Activate the sparkles by gently rubbing the liner once dry.

It's a formula I hadn't come across before. On top of that, I also had to get used to the type of application. It takes a bit of searching to find the right product ratio to use. It's genuinely bizarre that rubbing it actually triggers the glitter effect, an intense glitter effect.

Ice King Liquid Eyeliner

For this character I don't have to guess. The name clearly refers to the Ice King from Adventure Time. This character shows up a lot in the series, since he regularly kidnaps princesses, and Finn then teams up with Jake to rescue the kidnapped princess. The Ice King lives (shockingly) alone in the ice kingdom and rules over penguins. He possesses supernatural ice powers that he gets from his crown.
The Ice King Liquid eyeliner comes in cardboard packaging featuring the Ice King. When you place both eyeliner boxes next to each other, the images on the back line up with each other. This packaging also holds the slim eyeliner, made of clear plastic. The colour of the product isn't really a colour, more a finish. The eyeliner has an iridescent multichrome finish. Lethal recommends using the eyeliner as a topper or highlight.

This eyeliner has no coloured base and, as far as I'm concerned, can definitely be called a glitter eyeliner. Absolutely a spectacular eyeliner with a clear multichrome effect. Easy formula. Seems easier to apply than the Gunter eyeliner.
