A new and rather expensive addiction, Versace swimwear. It started with one set from the sale, and then I was hooked. Ever since, I kept scouring the internet's sale racks for deals on new sets. After a whole lot of scrolling on Matches and on Versace itself in the sale, I struck gold. I ordered a neon green bikini, a blue triangle bikini and a fantastic blue one piece. Expensive? Let's just say not everyone wants to pay this amount for swimwear, but I definitely think it's worth it. It's gorgeous quality and a beautiful fit.

Versace

It all started in 1987 in Milan, where Gianni Versace set up the Italian luxury brand Versace. Their logo quickly became known worldwide, and their Medusa logo has been impossible to imagine away from the fashion world ever since. Since 1997, Donatella Versace has been the face and the artistic brain behind the brand. In the meantime, two Versace hotels already exist, so you can fully immerse yourself in their luxury. A third hotel is currently being built in China. Versace's pieces can mostly be recognised by their bold and fearless designs. Sleek and daring silhouettes suit this brand well. You can really see that in their swimwear too! Sleek, daring lines and Medusa prints.

Greca Border bikinis

Every season, really every moment, they have bikinis in different colours in a standard model. Namely the Greca Border bikini. Within this line they sometimes have a few different top models, and definitely different bottom models, and they keep coming back time after time. So I now have two sets of the Greca Border bikinis, but with different-cut bottoms. The tops are the same model, but the bottoms aren't. From the pink set, the bottom sits high and the green one is medium. Of the tops I wear the smallest size, 1, and of the bottoms, 3. As far as I'm concerned those run really small! Size 3 is actually equivalent to an L. Look closely at the size chart for the tops, since for the tops you really need to look at your band size and cup size.

Versace Allover Towel Bikini X Dua Lipa

Versace released a collection in collaboration with Dua Lipa. Personally I'm not that into Dua Lipa, and I also wasn't super keen on the prints she'd released together with Versace. On top of that, I felt paying full price for a 'regular' towelling bikini was going a bit far. Until the moment came when, on top of the 70% discount, I got an extra 20% off. It came from Matches, together with another bikini.
It's a simple triangle bikini, but for that price I actually found that quite nice. In the end I paid around 80 euros for it, instead of around 350 euros.
For this set too, I stuck with the sizes I use for the Greca bikini. I ordered the top in size 1 and the bottom in size 3. The bottom is still available on various sites, but unfortunately I can no longer find the top online.
How's the fit? What you'd expect from a triangle bikini. Honestly, I don't find the quality all that high, and it's DEFINITELY not worth the full price. For the sale price, it's a nice addition.

Greca Border One-Piece swimsuit

I still thought this was an amazing find. I found the markdown on their own site truly fantastic, and it was astonishing how high some of the discount percentages were. I already had my eye on this model in black, but I was also really happy with a blue colour. On top of that, I really liked the pink trim too. For that price, I definitely wanted to order the swimsuit and try it too. With this one I actually found the sizing tricky, because everything needed to fit in, but without being too tight or too loose so things could hang out. In the end I landed on size 2.
I was pleasantly surprised when the 'swimsuit' arrived. The fabric is of lovely quality and it has a great fit. Because of the design I feel like I get enough support while wearing it, and I find it revealing enough to lie in the sun in. And the size? Perfect.

Final verdict?

Of course you need to be willing to pay the price for the items, and also love the designs Versace makes. What I have experienced is that there can be quite a difference between items in terms of quality, but also in terms of fit. You really need to experience for yourself what the right size is for you and what genuinely makes you very happy. A piece of swimwear from the Greca line? As far as I'm concerned, those are (on sale) lovely pieces to invest in. High quality and a great fit. Just be aware that there's really a difference between the bottoms, and which one suits your personal preference. The triangle bikini? I'm still not entirely sure about that one, but maybe it was the fabric this time.
In the next sale I might want to take a look at what their shoes are like. Hehe, heheh,
