Don't expect an exciting review of a spectacular game here, because I can already give it away, it's not a spectacular game. What I can tell you is that I've discovered I fall into the category of 'cozy gamer', with the occasional detour into a different kind of game. Disney Dreamlight Valley apparently also counts as a cozy game.
Anyway, a cozy game is one where you can wander around a bit low profile and without any rush. Collecting a few things sort of belongs to it, and completing the odd task too.
Through a new discovery on YouTube, I came across the game Ooblets. Say what? Yeah, I know.
So, Roos, Ooblets?

It's definitely not the prettiest game, or the most challenging game. But I do catch myself thinking every day, ooh, let me play a bit of Ooblets. See how it's going.
You start by choosing an avatar, options are limited, and after that your avatar decides to move to a new place. In this new place, the town... Ooblets hop around, and of course there are people too. Roos, so what are these Ooblets then? Ooblets are little creatures with different personality traits, who for some reason absolutely love dancing. When you arrive on the island, you choose a club you'd like to belong to, and based on that you get your first Ooblets. After that you can win seeds through 'dance competitions' to grow new Ooblets. Each Ooblet has its own dance moves and its own traits too. You can choose to have them follow you around, do chores on the farm, or set them free in a reserve.
Farming sim?

Is it a farming game? Uh, medium. You get to live on a farm for free, which you can fix up and expand yourself over time. Land comes with the farm, and you can work that land. Once you've collected enough stuff, you can let your Ooblets live in their own little house, and then their tasks on the farm also expand automatically. Without you having to direct them, they'll for example water the crops and weed the ground themselves. To progress further in the game, it's definitely worth growing crops. These are useful as raw materials for new items, or as ingredients to cook food. You also need certain crops to be able to enter a dance competition with a new Ooblet.
Primary tasks in the game Ooblets

For me some things are still a bit of a puzzle. For example, how to quickly earn gummies (money) and wishies (points?), so I can trade those in for goods and rewards. It's mostly earning wishies and completing tasks that gets you further in the game. You earn XP with every action, and the more XP, the higher your level, the more you can do.
Either way, it's definitely worthwhile to grow crops and tend them every day. On top of that it's also good to walk around the town every day to gather various things that grow in the wild. You can use those as raw materials, or trade them in for gummies.
In the game you become friends with the mayor, and the mayor would love for you to help improve the town. The higher your level, the more tasks you can complete, but also the harder they get. Think of things like building the hot air balloon. Or helping a friend with her research into Ooblets.
My conclusion

If you're into this kind of game too, I think it's worth picking up. Especially if the game is offered for a nice price in the E-Shop. Currently the game is offered physically by Nedgame. I think I've only really seen the tip of this game's iceberg so far. Because when I was finally allowed to board the hot air balloon, I saw a much bigger map with a lot more towns (?). Some parts of the town are also still locked.
I'll let you know if I discover more!
